I love the shabby chic feel that is created when you use the Minc Reactive paint. Each brush stroke is emphasised within the foil. What a gorgeous homemade touch.
The gold and pink ombre foil is just the perfect compliment to this special gift.
Gather your Minc Machine, Reactive Paint, Heidi Swapp’s fan brush, vellum, some Pink and Gold Ombre foil and create this easy Minc It Monday technique!
Hand cut or using your Silhouette Cameo cut out your shape with vellum. I chose a soft butterfly shape.
Apply a small amount of the Reactive Paint to the vellum die cut. Allow the paint to dry completely. This part is crucial to ensure even foiling coverage when you pass it through your Minc machine.
Depending on the thickness of your vellum, it may curl a little as you are applying your Reactive Paint. I added the tiniest pieces of washi tape from my stash to help hold it in place. As the paint dries the vellum shape becomes flat again.
Once dry trim out your foil to cover the painted area, taking care to place the foil completely over the paint to ensure any excess does not damage your carrier sheet. Run it through your Minc machine on a setting of 2. Once the shape has competed it's run through add your favorite tags and clips and adhere it to some ribbon wrapped around your gift with a touch of hot glue.
I will definitely be trying this technique again with some different shapes...I am thinking hearts, pineapples or even apples - that would make a perfect teacher gift! Supplies: Minc Mixed Media
