DIY mixed Media notepad

Today I am sharing another project I created  using  the amazing new Heidi Swapp Mixed Media collection available at Michaels. I wanted to use the rose stencil from the 6x6 Stencil set in a different way instead of spraying Colorshine over it so I decided to use it as a template to stamp into the cover of a DIY notepad I was making.

I grabbed my bottle of the  new Raspberry Colorshine and sprayed it on the reverse side of the Rose stencil from the stencil kit. I then stamped it onto one of the gold rimmed pages from the Color Magic Card kit .

Next  I  trimmed some paper to fit inside my notepad and used the small leaf from the stencil kit and very lightly misted over it with the Raspberry Colorshine at the bottom right of each page. Each page is slightly different and looks pretty inside the note book. To complete I used two  white jump rings to  bind it then tied it together with some crisp white seam binding.
It's a perfect gift for someone special!

Cinch Album kit!

If you know me you know I'm not a get your hands dirty kind of scrapper but the new Mixed Media collection from Heidi Swapp is slowly converting me!
Today I am sharing an idea using the Hello Cinch Album kit  and some of the new 
Mixed Media Tetxure pastes, Art screens and Inks! Once I created my album I used my Heidi Swapp Cinch to bind it all together.

I began by mixing some gesso with some Butter Colorshine then used a sponge to paint the back and front chipboard covers from the kit.

 Next I took the gorgeous Rose stencil from the 6×6 Flower stencil set, Gold Texture  paste and a spatular to spread the texture paste over the stencil on the front cover . I also added in some smaller dots using one of the Insta pattern stencils onto the front cover.

Once the texture paste and ink was dry I began embellishing the front cover. I layered one of the clear tags from the Color Magic Tag kit with the wood Veneer Play word that comes in the Cinch Kit. I added a Rub On Foil word and some September Skies Word Jumble stickers. For the final touch I used one of the Minc gold clips to to attach the Hello Beautiful tag to the top of the front cover. 

I layered the Hello Beautiful Clear Clear Card over one of the Clear pages that comes in the kit. 

On the Clear page I laid down the Note To Self Art Screen and added the beautiful gold Art Screen ink over the top and a quick smudge around the edge. 

 Next I added the Smile Water Color tab that comes in the kit that I sprayed with some Butter Colorshine using the 6×6 dot patterned stencil. 

For the journaling pages I used a pack of the Wanderlust papers as well as some plain white paper that I trimmed to size. I scattered the pages throughout the book. 

I added in one of the September Skies Project Life journaling cards for some interest. 

The Cinch Album  kit contains some pages made from chipboard.  I wanted to cover the chipboard with some pattern paper. I chose the subtle pattern from the Wanderlust collection. I downloaded the fun printable that Heidi shared here. Then  I ran it through my Laser printer then my Minc with some Hot Pink Foil. I trimmed the pattern paper to size and adhered it to the chipboard page and added some of the gold texture paste smudged around the edge. 

Using another of the clear pages I used the Polka Dot Art Screen and Raspberry Ink to create a fun pattern on my page. 

Once it was dry I stapled one of the Hello Beautiful cards and adhered  that Gold glitter word sicker to complete.

Earlier this year when Heidi came down under for her whirlwind Spotlight Tour I had the pleasure of travelling around Australia with her. I'm always so excited, humbled and appreciative of this experience to be a small part of the Heidi Swapp phenomenon  .
It is always such a treat  to connect with old friends and new. This year I met the lovely Natalie Elphinstone, Leeann Pearce and Aimee Dow for the very first time. I have known each of them online for a few years but it was great to finally meet and chat in person. hot pink flamingos...

A gorgeous new Mood board has been revealed over at Jot magazine.

I couldn't go past adding a Foiled hot pink flamingo using my Heidi Swapp Minc to my layout. I love the fun yet sophisticated feel to brings to my layout.

I also added some red and green foil elements too from the Minc collection which suited the mood board perfectly!
