Who doesn't love a good scavenger hunt! I do, the thrill of the chase of finding specific items from a list! Fun challenges for the whole family. Do you remember playing that as a child? How about we play a grown up version with the brand new
Heidi Swapp Tropical Instax Adventure Scavenger Hunt album out now at
Michaels stores.
This album would be a perfect album to take on your next vacation, taking photos along the way using the specific prompts from the album. Now here in Australia we are mid way through out school year with no vacation time insight so I thought I would take a scavenger hunt through the photos on my phone from our last vacation instead.
I Love the tropical feel to the album cover but as you will see inside my album I have combined photos from Hawaii, Disneyland, Las Vegas and even the Grand Canyon. I found some coordinating letter stickers from my stash and added the year to the front cover.
I went through the prompts in the front of the album and searched for photos that spoke to me when I read the prompt. I love that my album is not in chronological order of our vacation but rather by prompt. It really changes things up a bit which is fun!
The first page opens with out photo from the aeroplane as we were jetting off. I used one of the Instax sized filler cards from the Rose set in the collection and punched holes in it that lined up with the spiral binding. I then snipped a small slit from the edge to the hole and slipped it into my album.
I added a touch of washi from my stash to complete my page.
All the Smiles was definitely a prompt found at Disneyland. I added one of the Rose Gold frames fro the Filler pack over my photo and adhered it with some Disney washi I had in my stash. I finished off with one of the stickers from the Storyline collection, also available at Michaels tucked under my photo.
I added a yellow brad for a pop of colour.
Another photo attached with washi from my stash and then I paired stamping ( with stamps from my stash) with more washi to embellish simply.
The four of us made an awesome Travel Squad so I wanted to make this page a double. I had some of the Intax film that printed with rainbow edges so I printed out a few photos. I adhered my photo and chose one of the Filler cards to coordinate with my photo and adhered it with washi to the opposite page. I added a little hand cut banner to signify there is journaling underneath.

The photo lifts up to reveal my journaling underneath. |
A first for my boys....seeing snow and it was definitely unexpected. I added one of the photo corners from the Storyline collection to my photo then stapled a vintage Heidi acrylic letter over my photo.
Less is just as effective as more, here I added my photo then a couple of stickers from the Rose Gold Filler pack and some stamping to complete.
Again stamping, washi and a splash of Colorshine to complete my page.
I took one of the stickers from the filler pack and adhered it to a strip of paper then cut notches in each end to create a banner which I adhered underneath the prompt!
Here I used the same technique as I did on the first page and added one of the Circular Deck Of Days cards from the Storyline collection into my spiral binding. I added that stunning Rose Gold frame directly over my instax photo for a sophisticated look.
I overlaid one of the clear filler cards over my photo and secured it with washi so it can lift up to reveal the photo underneath.
Again washi and stickers for easy embellishing.
Here I created a little border around the bottom edge of my photo with stamps from my stash and added another sticker from the Storyline collection.
I punched a star from pattern paper and added it under the written prompt! This page took my less than two minutes to complete!
My husband's dream came true when he got to drive a fast car in Las Vegas. My photo printed in a landscape fashion so it adds a touch of interest to my album.
I adhered one of my photos then added the second one with a clip on the side to allow it to lift up to reveal the photo underneath.
Splashes of Butter Colorshine was the perfect finishing touch for this page.
And color coordinated washi worked a treat here!
I trimmed one of the circular Deck Of Days cards from the Storyline collection to form part of Mickey's ears and adhered it to the bottom edge of the page. I then added two punched circles from scrap paper to complete.
The page is completed with one of the Clear stickers from the Filler pack.
Another punched star and stickers make this page an easy one to finish.
The final page finishes with my most favorite photo from our vacation. A selfie on Waikiki beach. I added the glitter frame over the photo to keep the focus on the photo. That was all the page needed to complete.
So there you go, can you see how easy this would be to take away with you on your next vacation. Pack a couple of rolls of washi, your Instax SP-1 printer, one of the Filler packs from the collection a pen ad some adhesive and you can return home with a completed album filled with your favorite memories. It can't get any easier than that.
