Welcome to my scraproom

Welcome to a new year!
Welcome to my scrap room!
Welcome to a new year of Memory Keeping!
I have been doing a little clean and purge of my scrap room and I wanted to share where I would be doing my crafting this year! I am excited for a new year of possibilities!

Here is the view as you step into my craft room from the door. You can see several Ikea tables, shelving and drawer units.

Next to the door I have these set of drawers which hold all my pattern papers, Heidi Swapp Minc foils and blush Minc.

On top I have my  Heidi Swapp Memory Planner open ready to document. I leave it open so I can work on it any time I am free.

I share a desk with my husband. We put two Ikea desks together and he sits opposite to me. You can see his computer on the right. Here is where I keep all my adhesive, pens, staples and bits and pieces that I use all the time.

A side view of my desk and shelving hanging on the wall.

Another set of Ikea shelving. This holds my computer, sewing machine and extra bits and pieces in the boxes. Extra adhesive, stamps, punches, washi etc.

This larger Ikea shelf holds all my current Heidi Swapp paper collections as well as my We R Memory Keepers tools.

I love my Heidi Swapp Lightbox on the shelf here!

I keep all my stickers and ephemera from collections in little glass bowls. Adds such a decorative element to my room.

I cannot wait to be back in my Scraproom and continue my Memory keeping for 2021.

Heidi Swapp Memory Planner

As I sat and worked on my Heidi Swapp Memory Planner today I looked back at the beginning of my planner, and marvelled at everything that has happened this year....wow what a year 2020 has been. I am so thankful that I have recorded it all in my Memory Planner. With only days to the new year I am sharing a couple of my final pages.

One of my favorite way to celebrate memories is large photos. Here I printed off my photo 4x6 and adhered it on an angle to my page.

I then layered over stickers from the Color Fresh collection in and around my photos.

Another week and another full size photo. You can see I used some of the Color Fresh washi to add some color to my photos.

I love using the Color Fresh stickers over the top of my photos. Adds texture without bulk!

As the year is coming to a close I love looking at holding my full planner. Weeks and weeks of stories and memories. I will be forever grateful for a place to hold them all!

Gold Star Minc foil meets my December Album!

I am slowly working away on my December album.
One of my favourite ways to add shimmer and shine to my album is to create my own prinatbles and then print them off on to a transparency and then run them through my Heidi Swapp Minc machine with my favourite foil colours!

As you can see for this clear page, I used the Heidi Swapp Gold Star foil. I love the way it reflects in the light.

The different shades of stars in the Minc Foil add to the glitter and shine to my page.

I love that the clear transparency combined with the Gold Minc foil adds such a rich feel to my page.
Don't forget you  can find the Minc and Minc foils at JoAnn stores!
It is such an easy way to create a special page in your Memory Keeping!

Quick and easy gift idea with Old School

Are you looking for a quick and easy gift idea. Go no further than a box of the Heidi Swapp Old School collection cards and some coordinating pattern papers. Create your own custom envelopes, wrap them with a pretty bow and you are done!

Follow along with this quick step x step to create these beautiful set of cards and envelopes.

Begin with the pack of boxed cards from the Old School collection.

Choose pattern papers from the Old School 6x8 paper pad that match the cards in the pack. Trim out a rectangle to fit the fold over piece of the envelope. I never measure I just eyeball!

Lay the rectangle piece of pattern paper on the envelope and then using a ruler draw a line to follow the same angle as the side of the flap. Repeat for the other side.

Trim off the excess.

Use your scissors to cut a curved corner to  match the corner of the envelope.

Finally adhere the pattern paper to the inside flap of the envelope.

Repeat this for as many cards as you would like and then wrap them in a pretty bow and you are done!

The whole process for 20 cards took me less than 30 minutes. So Quick and easy!

You can find the Heidi Swapp Old School collection at Scrapbook.com!

Celebrating family with my Blush Memory Dex Spinner

Family and thankfulness has been on my mind lately so I wanted to celebrate  with my
Heidi Swapp Blush Memory Dex Spinner. I want to share my new Memory Dex cards with you.
I grabbed my Storyline Chapters paper pads and ephemera and got to work.

My first card I made by trimming that stripped pattern paper from the 6x8 Storyline Chapters paper pad. I then trimmed that pink floral from the cut apart paper also from the 6 x 8 paper pad. I added a vellum punched circle and then fussy cut the butterfly from the same paper pad.

I found this quote on the internet and added it to my card to complete it.

For my next card I started with that painty background from the 6x8 paper pad that I used one of the Memory Dex dies to cut out. I layered over another block from the  cut apart sheet. Next I used some of the pink iridescent foil and that leaf diecut I had in my stash. I cut it out of some toner paper then sent it through my Minc with some of the Pink Iridescent foil.

To complete the card I added a couple of the Storyline Chapters stickers and another family quote I typed on my typewriter.

For my final card I again used pattern paper from the Storyline Chapters 6x8 paper pad. More layers of paper, ephemera and journaling complete my card.

Don't forget you can find the Blush Memory Dex Spinner and Storyline Chapters collection at Scrapbook.com.

Heidi Swapp Minc in my December Album

Slowly I am getting my December album ready to celebrate the Holiday season.  I wanted to create a fun, bright and colourful opening page so I of course turned to my Heidi Swapp  Minc Rainbow foil, and I am sharing this fun printable too if you want to go ahead and add it into your Christmas album too!

Heidi Swapp Minc

The bright rainbow colors in the foil are the perfectly to bring some Christmas fun!

I began by finding this Christmas  quote on the net and then used my computer software to design my printable. I then used a piece of clear transparency to print out my design using my laser printer. I always ensure it is not on economy mode to get as much toner on the page as possible. I then trimmed a piece of the Rainbow Minc foil and ran it through my minc.

I trimmed the transparency to fit into my clear pocket and stapled a gold glitter star to the top.
You can find the printable HERE
I love how this is going to be the first page in my Christmas album!
Bring on the Christmas cheer!
You can find the Minc and Rainbow foil at your local JoAnn store!

The photo shoot meets Old School

Returning today with another project using my most favourite collection -the Heidi Swapp Old School collection. The cool blues, and eclectic patterns and designs were the perfect way to celebrate a special photo shoot we had last year in Santorini.

I began with an enlarged photo and embellished with stickers from the Old School collection.

I added in a 6x8 photo and again added stickers to embellish my photo.

On the back I trimmed a piece of the wave pattern paper to size. I then took one of the Old School tags and typed up my journaling. I then adhered into the pattern paper and added  some machine stitching.

I added my photos into the pockets and then used the 6x8 pattern paper pad to find favourite pattern papers that coordinate with my photos. I used some of the iridescent thickers for my title and stapled tags and ephemera to my photos and 3x4 pockets. I tried to use camera icons to help tell the story of the photo shoot.
I am totally loving using the Old School collection in my travel album. I cant wait to start my next!

Venice and Color Fresh

Sharing some new pages in my travel album today. Our European vacation included a 3 day stop over in beautiful Venice. Today I am sharing two double page spreads using the gorgeous and bright Color Fresh collection from Heidi Swapp. Let me share with you the details.

I began with a pocket page for the left and an enlarged 12 x 12 photo on the right.

I trimmed my favourite pattern papers from the Color Fresh collection to 3x4 and popped them into the pockets. I then used the variety of sticker booklets from the Color Fresh collection to embellish the photos.

I added this Neon stickers also from the Color Fresh collection to create a subtitle on my enlarged photo.

My second spread mirrors the first with an enlarged photo and pocket page on the right.

Again I added in patten paper from the Color Fresh collection to fill the empty pockets. I used typewriter to add my journaling directly onto one of the 3x4 pieces of pattern paper.
I also added stickers onto my enlarged photo as well.

I hope you are enjoying seeing my travel album come together.
Don't forget you can find the Color Fresh collection at JoAnn's right now
