Happy Halloween with DCWV

I love this time of the year, all the fun holidays are just around the corner. Halloween is gaining momentum here in Australia so I thought I should catch up on some older Halloween photos before the new ones are taken this year.
Happy Halloween Paper stack from DCWV

I started with the fabulous 12 x 12 Happy Halloween paper stack from DCWV!

It is filled with lots of fun patterns that are bright and bold, just perfect for Halloween!

I then found that cute Haunted House cut file from the Cut Shoppe and proceeded to cut those cute little colourful houses from one of the pattern papers to back the words! I love the way it looks.

I fussy cut other shapes, and words from some of the other die cut pattern papers from the 12 x 12 paper stack and tucked them in and around the layout. It goes to show all you need is a few pattern papers and a scrapbook page can be completed.
I cant wait for this years Halloween, I will have the perfect papers just waiting to be used on my layouts!

Foil Quill and travel pages

If you know me, you know I love all things that shimmer and shine! Well I am so excited to be playing with the We R Memory Keepers Foil Quill, it is just so fun but more importantly so easy to use...

WRMK Foil Quill

... and team the Foil Quill with the Heidi Swapp USB Designer Drive, which holds 200 Heidi svg and png files- like the ones I used on this project- Love this, Oh Happy Day, the Geotag and Camera and you have got yourself one amazing crafty tool!

Today I want to share two ways I have used the Foil Quill and Heidi Swapp Designer Drive!

WRMK Foil Quill

Firstly I used the Foil Quill and Gold Foil Quill foil to create my own cards for my pocket page spread. It was so easy, I simply placed some white cardstock down on my die cutting machine, overlaid it with the Gold Foil Quill foil and ran it through my cutting machine. once the cutting machine had worked its magic I  trimmed the cardstock to fit into my pockets.

I then used the "Love this" PNG file in my die cutting machine,  I used the Trace feature to turn the image into a cutfile and cut it on some white cardstock. I then layered it over the top of my plastic sleeve to create the title of my layout.

WRMK Foil Quill

I then embellished the rest of my layout using some Heidi Swapp Color Fresh Ephemera and stickers.

WRMK Foil Quill

I added some fun interactive elements.

and lots of dimensional adhesive for some simple layering techniques.

Doesn't the foil look incredible on this 3 x 4 card!

I cant wait to use the Foil Quill again. It is going to become a staple in my scrapbooking tool kit!

Celebrating Women in my scrapbooks!

Some of my favourite stories to tell in my scrapbooks are travel stories. As you may know we recently returned from a family vacation to Europe. While we were away I felt so at ease and so relaxed, that I took the time to get some photos of myself which I do not normally do. I felt so empowered that it was the perfect opportunity to create a layout to celebrate Womens Equality day!

Heidi Swapp Color Fresh layout

I created this double page spread using lots of Heidi Swapp goodness. Let me share more about my pages.

Heidi Swapp Color Fresh layout

On the left I printed off my photo to 12 x 12 and then added a couple of stickers and ephemera from the Color Fresh collection.

I used some White Minc foil on the double sided word sticker.

I then printed off my other two photos at 6x6 and created a grid design using papers from the 6x6 Color Fresh paper pad.

I added my strip journaling then punched a circle from the 6x6 paper pad and added one of the circle stickers from the Color Fresh sticker pad layered on top.

I then added some stickers from the Color Fresh sticker book and for a touch of blue added a sticker and thickers from the Wolf Pack collection to complete my layout.

Travel pages with the Minc

My family and I have recently returned from a 5 week vacation to Europe. We had an incredible time and I have been itching to get started on my travel albums. I wanted to add some fun pops of colour across my double page layout  so I turned to the Heidi Swapp Rainbow Minc foil and the new
Minc 12 x 12 Reactive paper pad. Inside the paper pad it includes, kraft and vellum pre printed sheets ready to be foiled. I grabbed the cut apart vellum sheet, ran it through my Minc with the Rainbow foil and then got to work completing my layout.

Heidi Swapp Minc

I love the gorgeous rich colours across the two pages created by the rainbow foil.

On the left I printed this gorgeous photo of our trip to Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre to 12 x 12. I added that Gold Puffy Sticker from the Heidi Swapp Color Fresh collection  onto the photo and then used a large circle punch to punch out that vellum piece. I simply stapled it to the top of the photo.

Heidi Swapp Minc

On the left I used a pocket page and filled it with photos and embellishments.

Again I used my large circle punch to cut out the Heart eyes design from the foiled vellum. I stapled it to the Color Fresh pattern paper trimmed to 3x4.

Here I simply slipped the 4 x 6 piece of vellum straight into the pocket and added the gold puffy heart.

Another vellum piece punched and added into the pocket.

I then added a 6 x 6 pocket insert and slipped in 2 6x6 photos. I added my title using the Color Fresh thickers.

I added my journaling in between the two photos that I adhered together to create a pocket.
I love my double page spread and I can't wait to create my next page.

Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland

Yes it may only be mid August but my favourite time of the year is only just around the corner! You guessed it! Christmas- and I am even more excited now that Heidi Swapp has a fun new holiday collection out called Winter Wonderland. It is full of traditional and not so traditional colours and designs. I couldn't wait to get some of last years photos scrapped!

Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland

I layered two of the fun bold patterns from the collection Merry Christmas and Tis the Season as my base for the layout. I then used one of Paige Evans cute reindeer cutfile as a starting point.

Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland

I grabbed the Ephemera pack and sticker sheet and created a fun banner between the antlers of the deer, holding it together with some mint embroidery thread from my stash. I then grabbed the Stamp and Die set and cut out that sweet little deer that I layered over one of the vellum ephemera pieces.

Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland

I love the texture that is created using the ephemera pieces as the banner. It adds texture without the bulk, one of my favourite techniques for memory keeping!

celebrating my teacher aides with the Color Fresh collection

As a teacher of kindergarten here in Australia I am lucky to have 3 fabulous Teacher Aides who work with me every day to support me and my students. We have all formed a lovely bond and work so well together. I wanted to record this special relationship with a layout so let me share it with you here!

I started with that fun number pattern paper from the Heidi Swapp Color Fresh  collection. It is the perfect pattern paper for a school layout.

I added my photo and a hand cut tag the same size as my photo. I added my strip journaling over tag and then used some of the Emerson Lane Heidi thickers for my title.

I surrounded my photo with ephemera and stickers from the Color Fresh collection. The fun pops of colour help add to the education theme.
You can find all these  papers, stickers and ephemera over at Heidi Swapp. com!

Celebrating International Joke Day

My youngest son is the joker in the family. He is aways telling jokes and playing tricks on us so in celebration of "International Joke Day" I decided to create a layout to commemorate the occasion.

I decided to combine 2 of my favourite Heidi Swapp collections- Color Fresh and Wolf pack and I adore the way they worked so beautifully together. The best thing is you can find both collections at JoAnn !

I began with the background wood grain pattern paper from the Wolf Pack collection. I then cut a pie shape design I found in the Silhouette store from white cardstock and layered it over another piece of white cardstock. Next I chose some favorite papers from both collections to back each pie piece. I used the Wolf Pack thickers to add my title and then added one of the Gold Puffy sticker words from the Color Fresh collection to add a subtitle.

I added ephemera pieces from the both collections to embellish my page. I love how they add pops of color throughout the layout to draw your eye around.

To complete my layout I added some strip journaling. I love how my layout came out. It is so important to record the personalities of our loved ones! I love looking back and seeing how my boys have grown and changed!
Dont forget you can find both collections at JoAnn!

Minc + Memory Planner

As you are reading this I am probably jet setting my way from Brisbane Australia to Europe for an amazing trip of a lifetime. My family and I are spending 5 weeks in several European countries and I am so excited!
I wanted a way to signify this in my Heidi Swapp  Memory Planner so I created a printable on my computer and then printed it off on some vellum using my laser printer! I then went ahead and ran it through my Heidi Swapp Minc with some delish Rainbow foil. I used my Planner hole punch  and then added it into my Memory Planner.

Heidi Swapp Memory Planner + MInc

I added one of the Stickers from the Color Fresh sticker sheet onto the piece of vellum to help tell more of  the story as well as stapling on one of the Tabs.

Heidi Swapp Memory Planner + MInc

I love the bright bold pops of color of the Rainbow Foil.

Heidi Swapp Memory Planner + MInc

and the softness of the vellum really makes the Rainbow foil pop!
I cannot wait to start creating  some fabulous memories to add into my Memory Planner.
