the album!

I am so happy and pleased with my Count Down 2 Christmas album with Pink Paislee I finished last night. My Merry and Bright album is bursting with our lead up to Christmas Day memories. I decided to create an "event" album as apposed to a daily album which fitted our schedule better.

My opening page an 8x8 photo of my boys.

Our first visit from our Elf on the shelf, he came with a Hello  note from the Heidi Swapp Favorite Things Project Life kit.

Decorating the tree. The glitter pieces in the Merry and Bright ephemera pack are so much fun!

I love using a pop of yellow to make my album suit our Aussie Summer!

I created a pocket using one of the clear pages and some pattern paper for my boys letters to Santa!

Card writing for their school friends.

Their photo with Santa, I loved combining more of the Heidi Swapp Project Life cards into my album.

My favourite photo from seeing the local Christmas lights enlarged to 8x8.

Hidden journaling!

I used the  Heidi Swapp 6x6 Confetti stencil and some embossing powder to create my night Sky then  inked over the top!

Love including my boys drawings in my album.

Another 8x8 photo . I used my typewriter to add the journaling to my photo then added the
Glitter Words too.

We watched the Grinch movie snuggled in our beds at the hotel room.

A vellum pocket stitched to my  4x4 piece of pattern paper holds the golden train ticket.

I added a QR code of the magical light display on our town hall that I videoed on my phone.

Christmas Craft.

Snowflake making!

A fun annual Christmas party with friends,

I added the 8x8 piece of pattern paper to the back of the clear page to hide the adhesive from the 8x8 photo.

The following  two pages were the ones I created for the Pink Paislee blog. More details here!

The boys made some super cool snow globes one day! ( With Lego and Dinosaurs of course)

More fun memories with a party at our house with special friends.

The boys email messages from Santa! Note the fingers crossed *wink*

Each year we like to give back in a small way by giving to the wishing tree. I combined it with the freebie downloadable Heidi shared here.

Oh dear!!!

The boys favourite Christmas Eve tradition, to sprinkle reindeer food on the front lawn!

And my husband and my favourite treat- watching Love Actually, its a tradition!

The big day filled with lots of beautiful memories.

I ran the kraft tag through my vintage typewriter to add the journaling to the back of the tag.

....and my whole album. I love it!

I hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas!

This layout was up on the Bazzill Basics blog recently with a quick tutorial on how I created that embossed edge on the side of my layout.  I love the colours in this one , it makes that black and white photo pop!

Isn't that We R Memory Keepers Rose die just beautiful!

....and a close up of the embossed pieces on my layout.

12 days of Christmas

Today I am sharing a non Christmas Christmas  layout that was up on the Heidi Swapp blog this week. I wanted to stay true to the colours in my boys shirts but also make it festive so I combined a little September Skies with a little Believe and I love the effect.
This layout is based on a  favourite photo of my boys I took when we were decorating our home for Christmas!

I added my journaling with my vintage typewriter!

I totally am in love with the large glitter chipboard alphas , they really make a statement.

This fun Christmas layout leads me to this fun event happening now over at  Papercut labs.
