Hello everyone I am  excited to be joining  the Altenew February Release* Blog Hop!

You should have come here from the lovely Virginia Lu's blog, but should you get lost or want to start from the beginning, hop on over to the Altenew Blog to find the whole list of participants. Now head to the talented Elsie Robinson for the next step on the blog hop!
I love the bright pops of colour in the new Live your Dream Scrapbook Collection . It is full of vibrant colours  and designs...but my most favourite piece is the orange and pink ombre pattern paper from the 12 x 12 paper collection.

It is such a delicious combo and design I couldn't wait to use it! I decided to make the pattern paper the star of my layout is I used it as my background. I adore the mix of the burnt orange moving down towards the hot pink and then into the indigo colour! It creates such a dramatic effect!

I then layered some of the pieces  from the  Chipboard stickers and the die cuts in around my photo for a fun  yet cohesive look!

It really is hard to choose a favourite element from the new collection so  Click HERE to see the links for our new products.
To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by 2/28/2019 for a chance to win. 6 winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 3/3/2019.

Heidi Swapp Minc Glitter sheets

I love when Heidi Swapp comes up with new ideas for the Minc!
This year there are some fun Glitter sheets available that can be put through the Minc... however I want to share a fun technique that will be perfect for all those crafters out there with a glitter phobia!! There are 4 Minc glitter sheet colours  and the glitter sits on a plastic sheet. The fun thing with this technique is there is no excess glitter to clean up and you don't even need a Minc either!

Heidi Swapp Minc Glitter sheets

Do you spy that gold glitter 'All Good ' sticker in my Memory Planner! It was originally a double sided foam sticker word. I removed the top sticker cover and placed the glitter sheet onto the sticky side, with a few dabs with my fingers the foam sticker was now covered in gold glitter and the best part - there was no mess! I then adhered the sticker to my planner! It really makes a big impact!

I share an easy walk through of this fun technique in my video below!

Grab yourself some of the new glitter sheets and try out this fun new technique today!

The perfect teacher gift!

Recently my school year started again. This year I am teaching kindergarten again and I have been given the fabulous job of grade coordinator. I wanted to surprise all the teachers and teacher aides in the team with a little gift at the beginning of the year ,so I had special lanyards made with our team name written on them. I attached a whistle for each member and wanted to give them a hand written card as well. Enter the Heidi Swapp "Heck Yes"  stationery gift cards and Glass pen and ink from the

Heidi Swapp gift kits

I grabbed one of the cards and envelopes from the pack and wrote each of their names on the card with the Sky Blue ink. It tied in nicely with the lanyard color.

I tucked a little extra gift tag inside using the Hello Stationery Tag kit. I just tied the hello word into the hole of black and white tag with some of the included string.

I then used the glass pen and Sky Blue Ink from the Handwrite Bright kit to add my sentiment to the card.

I love the soft blue tone of the ink. It adds such a pretty touch to the card. Don't forget you can find the cards, gift tags and Ink and glass kits online at joann.com.

DIY ombre Neon word

I am excited to  be sharing a brand new DIY project I created recently using the Heidi Swapp Neon Love word and some American Crafts Moxy glitter! It was such a quick and easy project and I simply love how it turned out! With Ombre still being  a hot trend I couldn't help but use three different glitter colours to add a beautiful pop of colour to my neon word.

Heidi Swapp Neon word

I adore how the three colours of glitter blends so nicely and the glitter adds some gorgeous shimmer and shine!

Heidi Swapp Neon word

Let me share how easy it was to create my Glittery Neon word.

Heidi Swapp Neon word

First I grabbed my Neon word, Moxy glitter, paint to coordinate with the glitter colour, Heidi Swapp Marquee Love glue, and a paint brush.

I began by painting a layer of aqua paint on the bottom third of my Neon word and allowed it to dry.

Next I grabbed three colours of glitter from the American Crafts Moxy pack - white, aqua and peacock!

I then added the white glitter to the top 2 thirds of the word.

Next I took the aqua glitter and added it to a small section of the bottom.

and then I added the peacock glitter to complete!

Once the glitter was dry I added the Neon wire into the groove and My Ombre neon word was complete!

I have my word sitting on my dressing table in our bedroom. I like to turn on the neon at night for a pretty effect!

A little self care in my Heidi Swapp Memory Planner!

I love a fresh new year in my Heidi Swapp Memory Planner.
It's always exciting opening up my planner at January knowing another year of my family's memories are going to be recorded in my planner.

Heidi Swapp Color Fresh Memory Planner

This year I am using the "Do your Thing" Classic Memory Planner. The hot pink cover is divine. I am so enthused I have already completed my first two weeks of 2019.

Heidi Swapp Color Fresh Memory Planner

Week 1 consisted of trips to the beach, the pool and movies.

I started with those glorious Neon stickers for my 2019 and added my photos and journaling around the title.

I added more photos and journaling to the second part of the week. The new Color Fresh sticker book is the perfect way to add big and small elements to my planner pages.

Week 2 I took a big step for me and changed my hair colour.  I have wanted to do this for a while and it is part of my commitment this year for a little self care! I wanted to make a big emphasis on this because it was such a big step for me so I added that gorgeous Minc foiled butterfly to my page- layering it over my photo. It certainly creates a big impact.

I added pop dots under the wings to create lift and dimension.

On the first page It seems my boys spent all their days in the pool. Perfect Summer pool weather. I added some of the clear and paper stickers from the sticker book for easy embellishments.

My go to photo size is created in my photo printer software. I am able to fit 4 photos onto a 4x6 photo paper. I trim them and they fit perfectly in each section of each day.

I added that cute Fresh Start acrylic piece from the Color Fresh Ephemera packet. I simply peeled off the clear backing, punched a hole and slipped it into one of the rings!

I added my journaling on one of the Journal Studio Tags and it slips behind my photo for safe keeping!

2019 is going to be another year filled with fun memories and I can't wait to continue preserving it here on my Memory Planner!

21 reasons to be thankful journal

November is my birthday month and I have been working on  a 21 days to be thankful journal, since my birthday falls on the 21st!
I decided to choose one moment each day to celebrate and be thankful for.  I am using the brand new Journal Studio  collection collaboration from Heidi Swapp and American Crafts and I couldn't be more happier with the outcome so far. Today I want to share the first part of my journal with you.

I started with the Think Happy journal and added the numbers from the ephemera pack.

My first page has a full size photo of my husband and then I use two cards from the Ephemera pack to embellish the left page. I added some journaling using my We R Memory Keepers Typecast typewriter and stamping using Kerri Bradford stamps.

On page 2, I used the fun new Kelly Creates  Brush Lettering Kit , which includes the word stamps and grey ink which allows you to stamp the word and trace over with pens- an easy way to get the brush lettering look.

Ive decided to add my journal into this gorgeous "Give it all you've got" journal cover, I love the soft pretty pink.

Day 4 I used that gorgeous pattern paper from Emerson Lane to cover the left hand side and used one of the tags from the Ephemera pack and my We R Memory Keepers Typecast Typewriter for my journaling.

More gorgeous pattern paper from Emerson Lane covers the right hand page, I added a strip of washi from the washi pack down the centre of the journal  and that fun " plan of Action" sticker from the Sticker booklet.

I also added some strip journaling to some of my pages. I used the new We R Memory Keepers Mini trimmer which is part of the Journal Studio collection  to cut my strips up. It makes it so easy to get precise cuts on smaller pieces and paper and cardstock.

I had to use that gorgeous Flamingo pattern paper from my stash from the Pineapple Crush collection as it matched my photo perfectly. I added some of the Epoxy stickers to accentuate my photo.

My final page to share so far, uses one of Heidi's handwritten words that you can find here that I cut with my Silhouette and sprayed with some Navy Colorshine. I layered it over the sticker from the sticker book that I ran through my Typecast Typewriter to add my journaling.
I just love how my journal is turning out and  I cant wait to share more!
