Celebrating Women in my scrapbooks!

Some of my favourite stories to tell in my scrapbooks are travel stories. As you may know we recently returned from a family vacation to Europe. While we were away I felt so at ease and so relaxed, that I took the time to get some photos of myself which I do not normally do. I felt so empowered that it was the perfect opportunity to create a layout to celebrate Womens Equality day!

Heidi Swapp Color Fresh layout

I created this double page spread using lots of Heidi Swapp goodness. Let me share more about my pages.

On the left I printed off my photo to 12 x 12 and then added a couple of stickers and ephemera from the Color Fresh collection.

I used some White Minc foil on the double sided word sticker.

I then printed off my other two photos at 6x6 and created a grid design using papers from the 6x6 Color Fresh paper pad.

I added my strip journaling then punched a circle from the 6x6 paper pad and added one of the circle stickers from the Color Fresh sticker pad layered on top.

I then added some stickers from the Color Fresh sticker book and for a touch of blue added a sticker and thickers from the Wolf Pack collection to complete my layout.

Travel pages with the Minc

My family and I have recently returned from a 5 week vacation to Europe. We had an incredible time and I have been itching to get started on my travel albums. I wanted to add some fun pops of colour across my double page layout  so I turned to the Heidi Swapp Rainbow Minc foil and the new
Minc 12 x 12 Reactive paper pad. Inside the paper pad it includes, kraft and vellum pre printed sheets ready to be foiled. I grabbed the cut apart vellum sheet, ran it through my Minc with the Rainbow foil and then got to work completing my layout.

I love the gorgeous rich colours across the two pages created by the rainbow foil.

On the left I printed this gorgeous photo of our trip to Riomaggiore in Cinque Terre to 12 x 12. I added that Gold Puffy Sticker from the Heidi Swapp Color Fresh collection  onto the photo and then used a large circle punch to punch out that vellum piece. I simply stapled it to the top of the photo.

On the left I used a pocket page and filled it with photos and embellishments.

Again I used my large circle punch to cut out the Heart eyes design from the foiled vellum. I stapled it to the Color Fresh pattern paper trimmed to 3x4.

Here I simply slipped the 4 x 6 piece of vellum straight into the pocket and added the gold puffy heart.

Another vellum piece punched and added into the pocket.

I then added a 6 x 6 pocket insert and slipped in 2 6x6 photos. I added my title using the Color Fresh thickers.

I added my journaling in between the two photos that I adhered together to create a pocket.
I love my double page spread and I can't wait to create my next page.

Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland

Yes it may only be mid August but my favourite time of the year is only just around the corner! You guessed it! Christmas- and I am even more excited now that Heidi Swapp has a fun new holiday collection out called Winter Wonderland. It is full of traditional and not so traditional colours and designs. I couldn't wait to get some of last years photos scrapped!

Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland

I layered two of the fun bold patterns from the collection Merry Christmas and Tis the Season as my base for the layout. I then used one of Paige Evans cute reindeer cutfile as a starting point.

I grabbed the Ephemera pack and sticker sheet and created a fun banner between the antlers of the deer, holding it together with some mint embroidery thread from my stash. I then grabbed the Stamp and Die set and cut out that sweet little deer that I layered over one of the vellum ephemera pieces.

I love the texture that is created using the ephemera pieces as the banner. It adds texture without the bulk, one of my favourite techniques for memory keeping!
