Heidi Swapp Toner ink in my travel album

I am still enjoying pulling together my European vacation album. It is almost 12 months since we had the trip of a life time and today I want to share the memory of our visit to the Leonardo Da Vinci museum in Venice. I have combined the Heidi Swapp Art Walk collection with the Minc for some gorgeous gold touches.

Heidi Swapp Minc

I began by creating this word art on my computer using a quote I found online by Leonardo Da Vinci.  I printed it off onto vellum using my laser printer and then ran it through my Minc machine with some Gold Minc Foil. I then trimmed it to 4x4 and placed it into the pockets of the 8x8 pocket page.

I slipped some trimmed Art Walk pattern paper behind the vellum to help the gold letters pop and then added my title using a brochure from the museum and some of the art Walk black letter stickers.

The back reveals more photos and journaling on the brochure.

I used the fun Tim Holtz Professor stamp with some of the new Heidi Swapp Toner Ink on vellum. Once dry I ran it through the Minc machine with more gold foil. Using the Toner ink with your stamps is really a game changer for me!

I added some of the Art Walk Definition Stickers on each photo for pattern and repetition. I love the it  it looks.

Mother's Day in my Storyline Chapters insert

Due to Covid 19, Mother's Day looked a little different this year. In Australia we were able to have a picnic with family so we took advantage of the beautiful weather here in Brisbane and visited a local beach and enjoyed our picnic. I wanted to commemorate the day in my Heidi Swapp Covid 19 Storyline Chapters insert. Let me share what I did.

Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters

I began with the Scrapbook insert and enlarged a photo to fill an entire page. I then trimmed a piece of the Storyline Chapters pattern paper from the 7x 9 paper pad and adhered it to the opposite page.

I inked some of the raw Chipboard letter stickers from the collection with some of the Pink Ink and adhered my title down, adding some stamping and stickers also from the collection to compete my page.

On the enlarged photo I added one of the rainbow stickers from the 6x12 sticker sheet and the who what and where from the 12 x 12 paper pad.

I created a hidden journaling pocket behind the pattern paper and used one of the tags  from the Storyline Chapters Ephemera to write my journaling.

DIY Heidi Swapp Door mats.

Have you seen the new Heidi Swapp Door mats! I love that you can create fun and personalised DIY door mats that suit your decor, theme or purpose. Today I want to share 2 ways  I am using them around my home. The best part is you can grab all the materials needed at your local and independent scrap store.
Idea no 1. The front door mat. I guess you can see my idea and theme here right!

Heidi Swapp DIY Doormats

I began with the Natural Fiber door mat, the Hello/ Goodbye stencil and the Numbers stencil set. I masked off the hello section and used some of the Heidi Swapp outdoor paint in black to stencil on the goodbye. Once dry I went in with the numbers 2020 from the Numbers stencil set.

I then layered it over the black and white layering mat also from Heidi Swapp.

I love the look at my front door. The black painted words pop against the black and white layering mat.
Idea no 2. Laundry mat.

Heidi Swapp DIY Doormats

This time I started with the Natural Fiber door mat, the Hello/Goodbye stencil and the Alphabet stencils. These allow you to custom create any word you want. I masked off the goodbye word and stencilled in the hello word. Once dry I then added in the word Wash with the individual letter stencils again using the black paint.
Once dry and to complete  my look I layered it over the black and white layering mat in front of my washing machine.

It  really makes a fun addition to my laundry.
You can find the Heidi Swapp  stencils, paint, and mats at independent and online stores now! It's the perfect time to create your own DIY doormats!

Heidi Swapp Art Walk + using QR codes in your memory keeping

Hello, I am back with a new travel layout for you today. When we visited Rome last year we took our boys to a Gladiator school where they learned the tricks of the trade of fighting like a gladiator. The feel of the photos was rustic so the Heidi Swapp Art Walk collection was the perfect collection to use with my photos.
I wanted to add in some of the videos that I took of my boys when they were training so I used my QR code APP to create my codes. It is one of my go to techniques in my Memory Keeping. I have an easy 'how to' video for creating QR codes for your memory keeping too.

You can see I used the stunning rustic feeling pattern papers from the Heidi Swapp Art Walk collection to fill the 3x4 pockets.

I used the embossed tags to hold my sub title using those black alpha stickers. I also created my title using the Thickers from the collection and added a bit of charm to them by swiping over them with grey ink and one of the Art Walk clear text stamps.

I added my journaling to another piece of Heidi Swapp Art Walk pattern paper using my typewriter. It is so easy to do. I then printed off my QR codes and then adhered them to the pattern paper. I added in foam tape to 2 of them to create dimension.
Watch the video below to see how easy it is to add QR codes into your scrapbooking!

3 new Heidi Swapp Memory Dex cards

I love when I can go out of the box with my crafting! I recently came across my box of
Heidi Swapp Color Fresh boxed cards and wanted to trial a new idea! How about use them to create some Memory Dex cards for my Spinner. I chose a few of my favourites and set about creating my cards.

Heidi Swapp Memory Dex

For my first Memory Dex card I chose that funky Map card. I used some of the Heidi Swapp Dies to cut out the Memory Dex card.

Heidi Swapp Memory Dex

I layered some Color Fresh Ephemera and that gorgeous diy bow I made with some of the Color Fresh pattern paper and that Bow die from We R Memory Keepers! I love how all the layers come together to create the beautiful layered card.

Next I took the Water color card and again used the Heidi Swapp Memory Dex dies to cut the Memory Dex card.

Again I layered in some Color Fresh Ephemera, using pop dots for dimension and finished with that gold Puffy word.

Finally I used that bold striped card to complete my trio of cards. I started with a circle punched with vellum and then more layered Ephemera, including that clear acrylic tiger! It creates such an eclectic feel to the card.

It really is a fun and easy way to add some gorgeous cards to your Memory Dex Spinner. I hope you play along too!

travel pages with DCWV

There is a new DCWV Paper pad available right now at JoAnn Stores. You can find it HERE.
When I saw the colours in the pack I knew they would be perfect for my travel photos of Mykonos from last year. The blues and yellows were perfect.
I created a double pocket page spread with a large photo insert as well. Once I printed off and placed my photos into the pockets I went through the paper pad and pulled out pattern papers that coordinated with my photos.

I choose the spotty blush , yellow textured, grey floral and blue white wash patterns.

I trimmed them and placed them into the pockets. I then embellished with some of my favourite pieces from the Heidi Swapp  Color Fresh and Storyline Chapters collections.

That cute little cactus print was a part of a cut apart sheet from the paper pad. I trimmed and then punched it out using a circle punch and then addd it to my typed journalling.

I love the pops of blush, yellow and blue- what a stunning colour combo!

Again the second double page features stickers and embellishments from the Color Fresh and Storyline Chapters collections over laid on the papers from the Pretty Home paper pad.

I added in some typing onto one of the 3x4 pieces of pattern paper. It is such an easy way to decorate a piece of pattern paper.

Using just the pattern paper pad and a few embellishments and stickers is an easy way to create a travel page. Don't forget you can find the paper pad at your local JoAnn store!

Heidi Swapp storyline collection

Have you spied the brand new Storyline Chapters collection from Heidi Swapp!
A new concept! A new way to Memory keep! Let's keep all our stories in a booklet then add these booklets to an album! How fun is that! Let me share a little more...

Recently my family and I went on a mini 5 day vacation so I decided to use the Storyline Chapter Scrapbook collection to celebrate our holiday! Let me share the first few pages with you!

Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters

This page celebrates NYE! I used one of the pages from the Storyline Chapters paper pad to cover the page. I then added my photos and then added the ephemera from the collection in and around my photos!

Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters

On the left I added my photos and backed them with another page from the paper pad. I overlapped some of the stickers from the collection to create a cohesive feel to my  page. On the right I trimmed another of the pattern papers and adhered it to the page. I took one of the journaling pads and ran it through my typewriter for my journaling and then adhered it to my page.

Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters

On the left page, I added the who, what, when and where stickers on an angle for a fun look. On the right I layered lots of the stickers from the collection over my photo. I love that it provides texture but without the bulk.
I cannot wait to continue working on my Storyline Chapters  mini vacation album. I'll be back to share more soon.
