Magnolia Jane layout

Heidi Swapp  has just released the most beautiful feminine collection called Magnolia Jane and I couldn't wait to create a layout with it. When I was looking through my photos from the recent Creativation trade show in Pheonix this one photo stood out to me as a favorite and I couldn't wait to use it on a layout. It was the first time in 4 years that all of us on the Media Team were together and it was such a celebration.

I love that the collection combines that beautiful dark floral pattern paper and  then  teams  with bold geometric patterns for a unique combination of pattern papers. I wanted to make a feature of the floral pattern paper so I decided to frame part of the floral  print with a white circular frame cut from Bazzill Basics White cardstock.

The flowers on this pattern paper are so striking!  They  make a bold  statement against the dark background that I wanted that to be the main element on my page.  To make my frame I used my fiskars circle cutter and cut a large circle from my white cardstock. It was that easy!

I then grabbed a piece of the Dashing pattern paper with the black markings to serve as the first layer on my layout. I then trimmed about an inch from two sides of  the Blush pattern paper and laid it over the Dashing paper. Finally I stitched my white frame on the top and my base was complete.

I created a place for some hidden journaling under my photo by only adhering three sides of the photo down and the tag is able to slide in and out.

The Blush tag is apart of the Ephemera pack and I used my We R Memory Keepers Typeface typewriter to add my journaling. To complete my tag I added some stamping with some of the Magnolia Jane clear stamps.

To embellish my layout I kept it fairly simple because I wanted that floral paper to be the feature. I used some of the Clear and  kraft and Gold dipped pieces from the Ephemera pack to embellish then added some of the Gold washi  to hold down my photo and Clear Gold Foil words as my title. To complete my layout I ended with some splashes of Black Colorshine!
