My altered book

Have you checked out the  Make Pretty Stuff E* book yet over at Heidi Swapp. If you had you might have seen some sneak peaks of this project inside it using the new Hello Today collection coming soon to Spotlight in Australia.
Today on the Heidi Swapp blog I am sharing a simple tutorial on how I made it using a vintage hard covered book , you can find the tutorial here if you are interested.

I decided to make my altered book about my favourite place to visit. New York City.

I love the layers inside.

Here are some of the things I did when creating the inside pages.

Staple acrylic letters to your photo.

Use shipping tags layered under photos.

Layer Acrylic pieces over washi tape.

Use 3x4 paper cut outs on your pages.

Cut pattern paper into banner shapes for  a different look.

Create pockets with tags for journaling.

Layer two photos by raising one with pop dots!

Attach stickers with foam dots for dimension.

Gather shipping tags and acrylic shapes for a fun embellishment.

Use arrows to highlight people on your pages.

Layer tags that have been stamped straight onto your photo.

Add Color Magic Ephemera pieces onto your photo.

Apply rubons directly to your photo.

Lastly staple large acrylic pieces over items in your photo to highlight important areas.

This is such a fun technique I cant wait to try it again!
