Lately I have been thinking about and reading some articles about technology and kids. I know it is going to happen eventually but I am trying to keep new technology away from my boys for as long as possible, being a teacher I do now the benefits of all these gadgets(educational games etc) but for now for me I want my boys to use their imagination and create their own fun!
This was another Submission for Basic Grey, my second layout.
Till next time...
not only is your project lovely but it's definitely food for thought... thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely gorgeous as always. it is funny because some of the parents at my son's preschool ask the teacher "why didnt my child do computer time today?" (worried that they are not getting to learn a skill that they will need), but for me I am glad he is not interested in it right now. this is the time for pretend play and imagination. As mom's of boys there will be plenty of time for video games :) so I totally agree with you.
ReplyDeleteAgain... FABULOUS!!! I totally agree with you and the absence of technology ...for the moment, while kids are kids. These school hols my boys have been building bases and playing the most amazing "spy" games! I love their outdoor adventures and especially their imagination..x
ReplyDeleteA child's imagination is amazing isn't it! Love it :-) this page captures all of that and more :-) gorgeous work Kim!!
ReplyDeleteStunning Kim!!! It is always amazing to see what my two come up with when the TV is not on so I totally agree. Have a beautiful weekend. :-)
ReplyDeletesuch a magnificent project, SO beautifully boy!!! WOW, {sigh}
ReplyDeleteBrilliant layout Kim, love how you have used these papers :) I also believe in the wonder of a childs imagination, it's simply a blessing to watch!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gorgeous. I love those photos and the journaling pieces look fab against the bright papers.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely project! Love the design and I{heart} the BG line you choose!
ReplyDeleteMagnifique!
Great! Love what the yellow does to this layout: the title etc. Love the design and the colors you choose.
ReplyDeleteAnother super cute LO Kim. You are going to be AWESOME on the BG DT.
ReplyDeletei so agree Kim.. give them some sand and a few lids and watch them make a truck noise and shift the sand.. give them some crayons or paint and let them draw...give them some old clothes and let them play dress ups and be anyone they dream of..give them a cardboard box and it is a space ship or castle.. all too soon they sit in front of a screen and stare at the images they see there.. another wonderful layout full of imagination and creativity and gorgeous papers.. love this one too..
ReplyDeleteyou totally deserve to be in the team Kim! I feel so intimidated now. CONGRATS!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layout Kim! I agree with you whole heartedly.... we are very lucky to live on a property out of town, so the cherubs have lots of space to run and climb and get dirty... and I love that! We don't own a playstation, which I am proud of, and I love that my kids have spent the past few day creating a cubby on the verandah!
ReplyDeleteLet's keep encouraging our kids to use their imaginations and play with each other, rather than a computer screen :) xx
Another stunner Kim. I just adore your journalling. You are really documenting the "day to day" on all your layouts, this will be so great for your boys to look back on in years to come. Love the page too. Cheers Di xx
ReplyDeleteFabulous layout Kim. I too am trying to keep my boys away from technology as much as possible but Jet does get to indulge in a little bit of computer games time each week.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the BG team too, you will be a great asset to the team.
Another terrific LO using BG!! Good for you for encouraging creative imagination play. There is time enough for all the technology later on. Lovely photos! I am so enjoying your use of BG products!
ReplyDeleteReally? It's no wonder you were picked up! Gah! Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. If not keep them from it limit thier time.
ReplyDeleteMy girls had such the imagination when they were young.
They made things out of cardboard boxed and had a blast,
I think that is why they are so creative today.
As for your layout it is stunning. Such sweet photos.
a HUGE congrats on making the BG DT KIm !!! so happy for you. Your work is amazing, and Im totally not suprised they snapped you up... have fun x
ReplyDeleteLove this Kim and I'm with you on the technology thing. Louis is 9 and we limit his time, but see a change in him when he does play. He becomes short tempered and that's just playing things like lego games!! x
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous page Kim!!!
ReplyDeleteawesome layout , love the encouragment you give your boys, and love the feel of this layout too :)
ReplyDeleteWe limit all technology to 2 hours a week for the 8 year old and 1 hour for the 5 year old (TV included). They choose when. If all allotted time is utilized in one foul swoop, then that's it, your loss! Works for us.
ReplyDeleteFantastic layout, as always!
Oooooooooo yes ! Our kickers are digital natives that's what they are called I just learnt this week.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say tho' that we're any less imaginative being digital natives. There are many other different kinds of possibilities tho' available, especially for communication.
So so true and it will be something they will look back on and thank you for when they are older. This is why its so great that we scrap these otherwise lost memories!!! Just gorgeous....just love how you used small strips of the BG so as to not over power the layout with too much busyness. Gorgeous xx
ReplyDeleteoh Kim this is awesome I love every little detail of this magical page .... super duper ... hugz x
ReplyDeleteLove the ideas behind your page and your page is awesome - you have some really cute guys there too!
ReplyDeleteI love this layout - but I love all of your layouts! I just want you to know how much you inspire me!
