it's a date!

Sharing the last two of my projects for this months DayLight kit from Scraptastic.
Again the bright happy colours and patterns were calling my name.
This first one tells the story of my husband and I on our  recent date day.

I had to record this little memory of my boys, I added in a qr code of a little video of them I made with them calling out to me.

The embellishments in the kit are to die for.

This months Daylight Kit and Add on from Scraptastic was right up my alley with lots of yellow for me to play with.

 

Today I am sharing two of the four layouts I created with the kit.

 

This first one uses the fun exclusive stamp set with the lightbulb element.

 

 

I created a border across the top of my page with the stamp then used my son's yellow pencil and a sharpener to do some shading inside the bulb.

I wanted to include his drawing on my layout so trimmed it down and adhered it to the bottom of the layout.

This second one shares the story of my boys soccer boots that they just couldn't wait to wear for the first time.

Love that large ampersand  that comes in the kit.

I played around with an app on my phone to get the interesting effect o the photos for a bit of difference in my layout.

Never Say Never....

There is a fun new Mood board challenge over at Jot Magazine, lots of retro patterns and a great colour scheme of orange, red, green and brown.

 This was  may take on the challenge, not having many flower embellies to fall back on I decided to just go with the colour scheme. I have used some of the yummy new papers from Bella Blvd to help me create my page.

 I added a bit of stitching for some texture.

...and of course the all important journaling.

GOING PLACES>>>>

I was totally blown away a few months ago when I received  an email from Stacey Julian asking me to join with three other talented scrappers to teach a class at....
BIG PICTURE CLASSES !....Seriously ....I have done several online classes at Big Picture Classes over the past few years and to now be asked to teach a class well my head was swimming...I am very thankful to be given this opportunity and I hope you will join  Angie Gutshall, Tammi Morrison, Katrina Kennedy and myself over there too see what we have come up with!
This will be  a four week TRAVEL Mini Album workshop with each teacher presenting our own take on "GOING PLACES" starting on July 3rd.
I decided to document my honeymoon almost 10 years ago and I have used the Heidi Swapp Dreamy collection to put my mini album together with lots of fun interactive elements!

the messy one......

This month at Scrap The Boys there is grungy/messy theme happening....anyone who knows me knows messy is a little out of my comfort zone so this is as messy as it gets. I began with papers from the Heidi Swapp Favorite Things collection.

 

I used some water colour paper and watered down water colour to create my messy stripes. I picked up the colours that were in my photos  for the  coloured stripes. I then grabbed some Heidi Swapp Ephemera pieces in coordinating colours to embellish under my photo.

I further embellished my page with some words and ephemera pieces then added some machine stitching and eeek dare I say some handwritten journaling.
