Just go with it....

Over at Scrap the Boys there is a fun colour combo challenge of yellow, blue and green this month.
This was my take on the fun colour palette.
I needed to document my feelings about having my youngest son's haircut recently for his first day of school.

More script writing...

I kept a lock of his curls and placed it in a  BasicGrey plastic envelope for prosperity.

The journaling is hidden behind the plastic envelope.

I hope you get a chance to play along with Scrap the Boys!

Hero...

Sharing my final two layouts for February's Scraptastic Mr Big Kit and Add on.
Its been a while since I used kraft on a layout, it was a nice change. The combo of kraft, red, yellow and orange is very striking, I think Ill be using that again.

These alphas by October Afternoon are a new fav!

......and yep you can see I am kinda obsessed with Script right now like they are obsessed with Angry Birds. It drives me bananas some days! I added in one of their playing cards to my banner, adds an authentic touch I think!

Don't forget if you are in Melbourne or want to fly in there are limited seats still available for the Master Class with Heidi and Becky, I will be there I hope to see you there too!

She rocks...

There is a new super fun and super bright mood board challenge over at Jot magazine. I was lucky enough to put this mood board together, you can see it was right up my alley of bright bold colours and patterns.

I have used the yummy yummy new "Favorite Things" collection from Heidi Swapp. It is full of bright geometric patterns and  florals. My layout celebrates my beautiful friend and fellow media team member Jamie Pate and our time together at CHA!   She just rocks big time!

I am kinda obsessed with script right now, painting these titles is lots of fun.

That glitter sticker was just perfect for my photo bomb photo! she was too funny!

Hope you get to play along over at Jot this month.

brothers in arms...

Today I wanted to share another layout I created with the Scraptastic Mr Big kit and Addon .
I took this candid shot of my boys recently, it was one of those run for your camera shots because it doesn't  happen very often LOL!
I am in love  the blue, aqua and orange combo!

A bit of hand stitching for fun!

Scraptastic's exclusive flair are so cool!

I used a vintage card from Typo to layer over some paint splats using distress paint that came in the kit!

cards on layouts

Today I am here to share another project I showcased in the Heidi Swapp *E* book that was released recently.  You can find it here and of course most importantly it is FREE!
I decided to create a layout using the Hello Today collection available at Michaels and soon to hit our shores in Australia at Spotlight.

I wanted to add an interactive element to the layout so I used one of the Color Magic cards (the star shaped card)  as part of my design.

I spritzed the front of it with Navy Color Shine , then added a sticker layered over vellum.

To the back of the card I added a piece of pattern paper from the 12x12 paper pad .

I then used some of the pattern paper and Ephemera to add layers.

For a fun element I added in an ephemera piece with a brad so it swings back and forth.

If you are from Down Under I hope you will be able to join Heidi on her Spotlight tour coming up in March. I hope to see you at some of these events.

One place you will see me, is here in Melbourne for a special Masters class with Heidi and Becky Higgins. What a treat that will be. See Spotlights FB page for all the details, you will not want to miss this ! I have seen Heidi's project and it is spectacular!

The first 6 weeks - My Memory Planner

Today I wanted to share the first 6 weeks of my Heidi Swapp Memory Planner Album . I am totally in love with this concept. It's so quick and easy but also allows for a bit of creativity as well.
A while back I shared my cover but for those who haven't seen it I did a bit of mixed media and finished with a coat of modge podge to protect it.

The first double page spread for January.

When I was a CHA I had all the girls from the Media team  leave me a message. I added a qr code of my son and his lego and added in my goals.

I filled my pocket pages with significant photos and some art work from my son.

 Turning the pocket page....

I added in memorabilia from my trip  to Anaheim.

I then added in some extra pages  using this technique I shared here on Instagram.

Even my youngest son's kissing hand he made on the first day of school.

January was a big month so I also added in some extra photos in another pocket page . I stapled it to the top of the calendar page and it lifts up.....

To reveal more photos underneath.

The calendar page allows you to record a memory for each day. So quick and easy!

Then comes February. Here I share the double page spread with the prompts page on the left.

I added in some personal thoughts under my photo.

I used my round Epiphany Crafts tool  plus the free printable from Heidi's blog to create this charm.

Next,  using the same technique as above I added in a card I received in the mail from the lovely Jamie Pate.

I used an 8x10 plastic sleeve to hold my husband's valentines card he gave me.

Again my pocket pages hold important photos for the month.

The start of my memory keeping  for February on the calendar page.

I used a circle punch to punch out parts of  photos and added them into some of the dates.

I can't wait to share more as the year goes on.
