joy...

This month marks my final month with the Show us your stuff challenge blog, I decided to not reapply for the second term. This month we were sent some lovely goodies from Bibby's lovely shop .
The challenge is to use ribbons, lace or trims on your project and to describe how you have used it. I decided to create a card using Bibby's handmade flower. I have attached it to my card so it is hanging off the edge for a fun effect and used some velvet ribbon to hide the join between the two pattern papers.

I would also like to share a mothers day card I made for the Scrapware blog this month, love the bright happy colours.

the ride

Its not often you will see pink on my blog with two boys to scrap but this gorgeous new hambly overlay was just crying out to be used with these photos of Larsen from a few months ago on his first pony ride. I have laid it over some old old my little shoe box pattern paper and then machine stitched in place

My Core’dinations Creative Frenzy

I have recently discovered Core'dinations fabulous card stock, I love that the plain card stock can be changed with a swipe of some sand paper or a simple roll through an embossing machine. For this layout I decided to go neutral with a touch of colour and used some cream small dot cardstock from the Jenni Bowlin collection. I have sanded the card stock here and there for a bit of a rustic feel.
For my second layout I decided to go tone on tone and used some core essentials cardstock in seaweed and touches of leapfrog
Don't you just love that truck button from Lilredrocket buttons. To create the circles first I punched out 5 circles from the card stock and to add some interest punched 3 circles from some co-ordinating pattern paper. Then I grabbed four different embossing folders and embossed the circles in my cuttlebug. Finally I used some sand paper and sanded over the embossed edges and around the edges of the circles. When I put my layout together I raised some circles with pop dots to add depth and interest. For my final layout I decided to use some Jenni Bowlin studio vintage brights collection cardstock, It matched my school theme perfectly. I used my sand paper to distress the letters and numbers that were already embossed on the cardstock.I also added some cosmo cricket woodgrain collection and core essentials cardstock which I sanded with my sand paper.I added some clear acrylic letters over some of the embossed letters to highlight them. To create the raw distressed edges of my cardstock, I used my scissors and quite vigorously rubbed up and down against the edges, I didn't mind if parts of my cardstock ripped either.
