Tell your story

Recently I found a box of photos that were collecting dust in a wooden box in my home. I pulled them out and many  of them were photos nearly 18 years old from when my husband and I were first dating. They were covered in dust and as I cleaned them up parts of the stories starting to come back. ... it made me sad that I couldn't recall the finer details of the events. It has made me appreciate even more why I love this passion called Scrapbooking. I wanted to get a story down fast so as not to forget it even  more so I grabbed a  Heidi Swapp Storyline page and some of the Deck Of Days cards from the collection and got to work.

I only had one photo from this story, so I  printed it in black and white and then found a few Deck of Days cards that emitted the feeling I wanted to convey and played around with my design and marked with a pencil where  I would place my photo. 

Before I adhered my photo I ran the whole sheet through my We R Memory Keepers Typecast typewriter to add my journaling.

 I then adhered my photo and Deck of Days cards with pop dots to the left of my photo.

I did some hand stitching around my journaling then used Jane Davenport Coloured pencils to hand write my title. 

I love how quickly and easily my layout came together and can't wait to add the layout to my album. You can find the  Storyline Deck Of Days cards and Albums at your local Michaels stores!

Celebrating Super Hero Day

Today I am here to celebrate Interbation Super Hero Day. To me that seems like an awesome way  to celebrate the day. I wanted to celebrate with my Heidi Swapp Lightboxes. First I had my boys dress up in their fav Super Hero mask!

Then  I gathered some of my favorite Lightbox Letters and created my wording. I used both the Regular and Shelf Lightbox so they each could hold one.

We went out side for a fun little photo shoot! It is serious business getting your photo taken!!

....and once we were done I created a little display in my younger son's room. He loves turning the lights  on at night when he goes to bed!

Pretty albums all in a row

I am totally in love with the new Storyline albums from Heidi Swapp. They come in two sizes,
12 x 12 and this super fun size 81/2 x 11. I have all these albums sitting on a shelf in my scrap room waiting to be filled with more of my families memories.

My favourite album is this " tell your story" album.  I love the soft floral surrounding the title of the album.

I also love that inside the album is an 11 inch pocket to hold extra photos or embellishments waiting to be scrapped!

and the opening plastic sleeve contains this lovely title page which is a perfect way to start your album.

I just love how all the albums sit so pretty on my shelf!

Jot mood board

It was my turn to create the new Mood board over at Jot Magazine this month and I choose a bright bold and fun combo or pink, yellow and black and white stripe! I couldn't wait to start my layout!

 I started with the gorgeous  floral base from the Heidi Swapp Hawthorne collection. I then added in one of the  cards from the new Mini Messages pack in the Pineapple Crush collection and layered over some die cut flowers .

I snuck in a heart die cut from the storyline collection and touches of Washi from the Hawthorne collection.

The Bae word is a foam word from the Hawthorne collection that is sticky backed and foiled with some Gold Foil from the Minc collection.

I hope you get a chance to play along with the new Mood board , it is so much fun!
