2nd challenge with Taryn

Today taryn and I have our second photo challenge to share. We have used the same set of photos of both our son's but created totally different layouts..

Absolutely love this new butterfly punch from Martha Stewart, and the new Basic Grey pps, that doiley is from here

froggies are definitely in...

Yep...butterflies are out and froggies are in !! giggle giggle, no not really but I borrowed this super cute little frog punch on the weekend and thought they went perfectly with my new lilredrocket buttons I received from Michelle to play with.

I layered the buttons with some fun paper circles that Michelle also has for sale.

Addison at aged 3 definatly thinks he is the boss, we have a hard time convinving him he isn't LOL ! So I created this layout to show him one day when he is older and much wiser!!!!






This second layout tells of Addison's excitment at learning to ride the neighbour's quad bike, he was soooo proud of himself. That apple pin is of course from mylittlebitofwhimsy , the lamp post from 3tailscraft and that gorgeous flashcard from prettylittlestudio thanks to shell for the link.

BTW Shell has had so much success at lilredrocket she has sold out again, be sure to keep checking back for new goodies and some amazing kits she is putting together too.

misting and banners...pure bliss

As promised one of my layouts I did on my day trip away with Taryn ....wanted to do a little experimenting with my two favourites at the moment...misting and banners, love how it turned out, I initially tried to use some stickers I had from Sass but they stuck too much to my background, so I ended up cutting my own banner template out of spare paper and misted away.

The chipboard bracket and digger is from 3tailscraft and that cute little doiley is from here.

brights

I think I am in love with brights lately. Last night while scrapping I tried to do a layout that had very earthy dull colours, I shuffled for over an hour then finally abandoned it for this. Larsen just loves playing in the cubby outside he would play in it all day if I let him. Love the new apple jack from Sass, some bakers twine and a splash of mist of course.

why is it....

Why is it that some projects turn out completely different from where you first started and your vision...This gorgeous photo of Addison was taken a while ago in our front yard near a spider web and spider, (Disclaimer no kids were hurt in the making of this layout) LOL and I initially wanted to mist over a web that I hand cut out of card stock...well that wasnt doing it for me so I came up with this. I m pretty happy with the result. I have used the last of my lilredrocketbuttons from this month, Thanks Michelle. If you head on over to the store it is brimming with so much fun stuff.

Its Monday the 15th..

Its Monday the 15 so that means new challenges are up at scrapawhile and stuck sketches. This is my first challenge I set over at scrapawhile and the challenge was to use a Dr Seuss quote on your layout. Larsen at the park a few weeks ago, I have used some yummy new Cosmo here and for the misting I used a stencil of Addison's, lots of fun I think.

My second layout which is based on this sketch at stuck chronicles Addison's love of writing on the wall during showers, he is so cute.

how did we...

How did we ever scrap before mists came along? I think my layouts seem unfinished now if there is not a spray here or a splash there.

This first one I have wanted to do for a while now I was just waiting for the right embellie to come along, this GORGEOUS chipboard circus tent was made for me here . Again I have used this gorgeous graphic 45 paper, love this pattern.

My second layout uses a gorgeous lilredrocketbutton and a new punch I got at spotlight just recently...Taryn I know I think I own them ALL now !!!..and some misting and good ol string. This photo is a favourite I took on Australia day of the boys exploring the beach together.

layouts and a give away

On Saturday I went on all day crop with the lovely Taryn . We had a fabulous day scrapping and chatting and more chatting. I managed to get four layouts done , 3 of which I can show you now. I have used some more scrummy yummy buttons from my DT pack from lilredrocketbuttons . Aren't they the cutest! Circles, hand sewing and glimmer misting are back too LOL !







This last layout has some older photos of Larsen , when he was about 6 months the way he went from sitting to lieing was to do the splits, Ahh to have that much flexibility again!! That cute little birdie pin is from mylittlebitofwhimsy so so love it.

My friend Taryn and I have decided to give ourselves a monthly challenge using the same set of photos, it was my turn first to pick the photos, they are of our boys and others in the street playing STAR WARS. You can also see the cutest little button from lilredrocketbuttons Michelle sent them in my first DT pack, they are so scrummy. Make sure to head over to Taryn's blog to leave some love too. I can't wait for our next challenge!

My second layout chronicles Addisons curiostity at 3, like most little boys he wants to know the how and why of EVERYTHING. I have used another lilredrocketbutton button here and sprayed it with glimmermist to help it blend with the colours more. Graphic 45 is not normally my pattern paper of choice but I just loved this paper so much I actually bought it for another two layouts you will see soon.
